Estee Lopez

Estee Lopez, EdD is nationally and internationally recognized for her work in empowering educators of diverse learners to engage in developing higher cognitive, language and academic performance by reframing our beliefs and practices about how linguistically diverse students learn.

Lopez is a global trainer for Thinking School International, Designs for Thinking, National Urban Alliance, Lopez Consulting Group and currently is an assistant professor at the  Graduate School at The College of New Rochelle.  She has served as an expert on English language learners (ELLs) on various committees with the New York State Education Department and most recently served on the steering committee to develop a document to help linguistically diverse learners access the Common Core Standards in the USA.

Having served in public education for over 37 years in the capacity of teacher, staff developer, consultant, principal, and school district administrator for instructional programs, Estee has written for the Idiom, a publication of NYS TESOL.  She is one of the authors featured in the upcoming book on Thinking Schools and is author of three laminated reference guides, published by National Professional Resources, Inc./Dude Publishing, on working with ELLs.   Her research on the use of cognitive models for language and literacy development is a breakthrough on how to accelerate language and intelligence.
