Nancy Heilbronner

Nancy Heilbronner author photoDr. Nancy Heilbronner is Interim Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs and Associate Professor at Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, New York

Dr. Heilbronner earned her Ph.D.in Educational Psychology with a focus on Gifted Education from the University of Connecticut. Her research fields include STEM education, and she is particularly interested in how talent develops and is expressed across these domains. Dr. Heilbronner has taught grades kindergarten through grade eight, including middle school life science, earth science, and physical science.

Dr. Heilbronner was a recipient of a Belin-Blank award to study the impact of early college entrance on young women. She has published extensively in the fields of gifted and science education. In addition to numerous articles, she has authored or co-authored the following books: SEM Science; Think Data, Think Instruments; Let’s Be Scientists, and Ten Things Not to Say to Your Gifted Child, One Family’s Perspective, which was honored with the Parent’s Choice and Texas Legacy Awards. She has presented extensively and keynoted on topics related to gifted and science education, and has served as an advisor in the field of gifted education in international settings. For NPR, Inc., she is the author of the laminated guide STEM Strategies for the K-8 classroom.
