Sue Argiro

Sue Argiro has over 20 years experience as a special educator, working with children with autism and other disabilities.  She received her master’s degree in special education from the University of Memphis, having begun her teaching career as an elementary school teacher.  Before joining the specialized autism program for Shelby County Schools (Project REACH) in Memphis, TN, she taught special education at the elementary level.  

As a Project REACH team member, Argiro worked as a student response team consultant, providing support for all classroom personnel, related service providers and administrators of children with autism and other related disabilities from pre-school through high school.  In addition, she provided training to parents and provided support to programs conducted in the students’ homes.

She has presented at national and international special educational conferences throughout the United States during her career.  Argiro is a co-author, with Wendy Ashcroft and Joyce Keohane, of two laminated reference guides, Autism Strategies: A-Z (for Level 1 & 2 Learners and for Level 2 & 3 Learners), published by National Professional Resources, Inc.  Ashcroft, Keohane, and Argiro also collaborated and authored a book on autism, Success Strategies for Teaching Kids With Autism, published by Routledge.
