Tony Spruill

Tony Spruill HeadshotTony Spruill is the Transportation Operations Supervisor for Prince George's County Public Schools (PGCPS). In this position he is responsible for helping to transport over 88,000 students to and from school daily. During his 15 years of service in PGCPS’ transportation department, he devised numerous initiatives to elevate safety precautions, increase productivity, and reduce spending. He also created a continuous improvement program for drivers, as well as a system of working more closely with the special education department to ensure that students with special needs receive the same level of transportation services as their general education counterparts.

Previously, as Regional Transportation Supervisor, Tony managed all day-to-day functions and activities of the school bus transportation and central vehicle maintenance areas to include all bus lots and vehicle garages. He has considerable knowledge of the operations and scheduling of school buses, principles of fleet and traffic management, budgets, policies, practices, personnel, as well as laws and regulations related to transportation administration.

In addition, Tony has over ten years of experience as an educator serving both general and special education students and eight years as a human resource and labor relations specialist. He holds a Master’s of Public Administration in Public Management from Troy State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Elizabeth City State University.
